Description
The project consisted of the construction of an a extension to the existing Hospital to facilitate a new Local Injuries Unit, including a new link corridor and associated alterations. The works included substructures, blockwork, structural steel, precast roofing, external cladding, extensive Mechanical & Electrical services, automated privacy screens, fitted furniture, Corian seating area, paving, metalwork, drainage and external landscaping.
The project was delivered within a live Acute Hospital environment, requiring careful planning and strict controls for dust and infection risks, including Aspergillus awareness training for all site personnel.
Martins Construction Ltd acted as Main Contractor and PSCS, managing the safe delivery and coordination of the works while maintaining the operation of the hospital campus.
